You Can Do It!!

Tango is a social art form with many faces.

For me, it was the social ritual, the philosophy, and the dance that first pulled me in.

But after all these years, I must add one more: teaching.

I’m endlessly grateful to those of you who have chosen to work with me and trust in my guidance.

Teaching has taught me a lot about myself.

Standing in front of a class, I’ve learned about presence, patience, and the quiet power of meeting people exactly where they are in their journey.

And often, it’s my students who leave me with the deepest insights.

One of them once said:

“There’s a moment when you need to take your learning into your own hands and ask: Is what I see what I truly want?”

He had been chasing trends, taking workshops from the most “fashionable” teachers, but his dance felt off.

He wasn’t dancing his tango.

Now, he’s rebuilding, returning to the fundamentals.

No shortcuts. No tricks.

Just the search for authenticity.

Thank you for putting into words what many of us have felt.

On another occasion, a student said:

“I’m here learning with you, and I take it as time for myself. A gift.

I have no dance background, and I’m already an adult. I don’t care.

I don’t want to be in a tango show or win a championship.

I’m doing this because I want to.

I’m not getting any younger, and I want to make the best of the time I have.

So if we need to work on fundamentals for months,

Bring it.

I know it’s what I need.”

Her energy and clarity inspired me deeply.

She reminded me that we all come to tango for personal reasons, and that every reason is valid, especially when it helps make the tango community and the world a little better.
